L'hommage italien à Gagarine. An italian tribute to Gagarin.

 Il est fort joli le timbre émis par la Poste Italienne (Posteitaliane) le 12 Avril 2011 pour commémorer le cinquantième anniversaire du premier vol humain dans l'espace! Au premier plan on remarque le portrait de Youri Gagarine, le premier homme à avoir effectué un vol dans l'espace et au second plan le vaisseau spatial Vostok 1 dans lequel il prit place pour ce vol de légende.  A noter la belle oblitération de Florence (Firenze en italien). Un grand merci à Françoise pour cette belle enveloppe!

 Thanks to Françoise, I can show you today the nice stamp (date of issue : April 12, 2011) issued by the italian post (Posteitaliane), dedicated to Youri Gagarin, the first ever man being to journey into outer space. The stamp shows in the foreground on the left,  a portrait of Yuri A. Gagarin; visible on the right, on a background representing a part of the universe, is the spacecraft Vostok 1, with which, on 12 April 1961, the Soviet cosmonaut became the first man in history to orbit the Earth. The words “50° ANNIVERSARIO DEL PRIMO VOLO UMANO NELLO SPAZIO” (50th anniversary of the first human flight in space), “JURIJ A. GAGARIN 12 APRILE 1961” (Yuri A. Gagarin April 12 1961), “ITALIA” and the denomination “€ 0,75” complete the stamp. To note the nice postmark from Florence (Firenze in italian) the beautiful city, capital of the Italian region of Tuscany, on the River Arno.
