My first cover from Honduras! Ma première lettre du Honduras!

 Thank you so much Sonia for sending me my very first cover from Honduras!

 Honduras is a republic in Central America. The country is bordered by Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua and has access to the Caribbean Sea as well as to the Pacific Ocean. Its size is about 112,000 km2 with more than 8 million inhabitants. The capital city is Tegucigalpa (1,13 million inhabitants).  The lempira (subdivided in 100 centavos) is the currency of Honduras and Sonia was kind enough to send me a one lempira banknote :

 The lempira was named after the 16th-century cacique Lempira, a ruler of the indegenous Lenca people, who is renowned in Honduran folklore for leading the (ultimately unsuccessful) local native resistance against the Spanish conquistador forces.
