 Voici une jolie paire de timbres se-tenant émis le 10 Septembre 2005 par la Lituanie. La Lituanie est le plus grand et le plus méridional des trois états baltes. Contrairement à la Lettonie et à l'Estonie, la Lituanie n'utilise pas encore l'euro comme monnaie, mais le litas, qui toutefois va disparaître le 1er Janvier 2015 pour laisser place à la monnaie européenne.

 Let me show you today a beautiful pair of se-tenant stamps (date of issue, September 10, 2005) issued by Lithuania, the southernmost of the three Baltic states. The population is about 3 million and the capital is Vilnius. The litas, the national currency, will be switched to the euro on 1 January 2015.

 Le timbre de gauche nous montre un oiseau, le plongeon arctique (Gavia arctica), qui vit au nord de l'Europe, le plus souvent près de grands lacs. La plante aquatique présente sur l'autre timbre est la mâcre nageante ou châtaigne d'eau (Trapa natans). Cette plante flottante vivace peut parfois devenir envahissante.

 The stamp on the left shows us a bird, the black-throated loon (Gavia arctica), a migratory aquatic bird found in the northern hemisphere. On the other stamp, an aquatic plant, the water caltrop (Trapa natrans) is depicted.
