Honneur ce soir à la bécassine sourde (Lymnocryptes minimus) avec cette jolie lettre venue de Lettonie. Elle fait partie des trois espèces de bécassines que l'on trouve en France, avec la bécassine des marais (Gallinago gallinago) et la bécassine double (Gallinago media). On la trouve également bien sûr en Lettonie, d'où ce très joli timbre à 0,50€ émis le 16 Mai 2014 par cette république balte. Merci à Juris pour cet envoi, élégamment complété par deux petits timbres de la série armoiries.
Thank you Juris for this cover with a 0.50€ stamp (date of issue : May 16, 2014) depicting a bird, the Jack snipe (Lymnocryptes minimus), the smallest snipe and the only member of the genus Lymnocryptes. Juris was kind enough to complete his sending with two little stamps from the never-ending and fascinating definitive series featuring the coats of arms of different Latvian cities and regions.
