 Thank you Jigmid for this cover from Mongolia. Mongolia is a landlocked country in Central Asia bordered by Russia and China, with a population of around 2.9 million people. The capital city is Ulan Bator (also Ulaanbaatar). This cover comes from Erdenet, the second-largest city, in the northern part of the country.

Kublai Khan, fifth emperor (Great Khan) of the Mongol Empire, reigning from 1260 to 1294 and founder of the Yuan Dynasty in China. Grandson of Genghis Khan, he is wellknown in Europe because Marco Polo spent 17 years under the administration and patronage of Kublai.
