Le dragon de Komodo (Varanus komodoensis), également connu sous le nom de varan de Komodo est de loin le plus grand lézard du monde puisqu'il mesure jusqu'à 3 mètres et pèse 70 kilos! Il vit dans plusieurs îles d'Indonésie centrale, notamment bien sûr dans l'île de Komodo. Il faut noter que même si les attaques contre l'homme sont très rares, les varans de Komodo peuvent tuer.
