Five US celibrity chefs. Cinq cuisiniers américains célèbres.



 Thanks to Bryon, I show you today a delicious set of five US stamps (issue date : September 26, 2014) dedicated to celebrity chefs. Edna Lewis (1916-2006) showed her fellows Americans the vitality of Southern cooking. Renowned for his culinary creativity, Felipe Rojas-Lombardi (1946-1991), the Peruvian-born chef is widely credited with introducing the Spanish small-plate tapas concept to American restaurants. Joyce Chen (1917-1994) was one of America's greatest popularizers of Chinese food. Teacher and author James Beard (1903-1985) avidly fostered a more vibrant food culture in the United States. Last but not least, Julia Child (1912-2004) demystified French cuisine through her extremely popular television shows and cookbooks.
