 Très peu connu en France, Jagjit Singh (1941-2011) est un célèbre musicien indien de ghazal, un style littéraire persan devenu également un genre musical extrèmement populaire tant en Iran qu'en Inde. Ce diptyque composé d'un timbre à 5 roupies et d'un autre à 20 roupies a été émis le 8 Février 2014.
 
 Jagjit Singh, born Jagmohan Singh (8 February 1941 – 10 October 2011), was a prominent Indian Ghazal singer, songwriter and musician. Known as the "Ghazal King", he gained acclaim together with his wife, another renowned Indian ghazal singer Chitra Singh in the 1970s and 1980s. This diptych has been issued in October 8, 2014.
