Dogs at work!

Merci Bryon!

The U.S. Postal Service celebrates the enduring partnership between dogs and people with the Dogs at Work issuance. This set of four 2012 stamps depicts four hard-working canines: a tracking dog on the trail of a scent, a search and rescue dog standing in a field, ready to tackle the next assignment, a guide dog assisting a woman who is blind, and a therapy dog visiting an elderly woman in her home.

To note the nice franking from the Yellowstone National Park, widely held to be the first national park in the world. 82190 is the zip code for the park. There are 5 post offices in the park but only the Mammoth Hot Springs post office is open year round so I guess this is where the letter was mailed from!

  3. Yes, Jeff, you are correct, it was mailed from the Mammoth Post Office in Yellowstone. Mammoth is best known for its beautiful and treacherous natural hot springs. I often see bison and elk in the Mammoth area in winter. Best wishes!
