Voici une superbe lettre algérienne avec quatre timbres différents consacrés à la faune qui nous montrent un escargot comestible, le petit-gris (Helix aspersa), très commun dans le bassin méditerranéen et en Europe de l'ouest, un papillon, la proserpine (Zerynthia rumina), un poisson, la murène commune (Muraena helena) qui peut atteindre 1,50 m. et que l'on retrouve en Méditerranée et en Atlantique du Sénégal jusqu'aux Iles Britanniques, et enfin un mouton algérien de la race Ouled Djellal.
